Live demo

Try Inkwell on a live demo site.

Inkwell has a public demo at demo.useinkwell.app. It runs the current release with sample content: read it as a visitor, then sign in to the editorial Desk and write a post, schedule it, change the theme and read the analytics. The demo resets to its starting content every weekend.

Two ways in

The reader site, and the Desk behind it.

The reader site

What a visitor sees: the Neutral layout on the cream preset, eighteen published articles about writing, publishing and running a site with Inkwell, two series, categories and tags, answer blocks and FAQs on the posts, the newsletter box and site search.

Demo sign-in

One password, three roles.

Reveal the password with the control below. It is shown to people, not to crawlers, and the demo's own safeguards (hourly account restore, weekly reset, no outgoing e-mail) are what actually protect it.

RoleE-mailWhat it can do
Adminadmin@demo.useinkwell.appeverything, including settings and theme
Editoreditor@demo.useinkwell.appevery post, page and comment; no settings
Authorauthor@demo.useinkwell.appown posts; submits the rest for review

Password for all three accounts: hidden until you pass the check

Tick the box, then press Show. The password is sent only after the check passes, never stored in this page.
Ten minutes

What to try.

  1. Write. Open Posts and write one in the visual editor, then switch the same post to Markdown.
  2. Schedule. Set a publish time in the Publish panel and watch the post appear in the list as Scheduled.
  3. Restyle. Open Theme, switch the layout and the colour preset, and reload the reader site.
  4. Operate. Open Analytics, AI Crawlers, Security and Audit to see what a site owner sees.
  5. Review. Sign out and in again as the Author to walk the submit-for-review workflow.

Rules of the sandbox. The demo is shared and public. Anything you write is visible to the next visitor until the weekend reset. The three demo accounts are restored every hour, so a changed password locks people out for an hour at most. No e-mail is ever sent from the demo. Please do not enter personal data.

Frequently asked

Questions about the demo.

Is the Inkwell demo the real product?
Yes. The demo at demo.useinkwell.app is the current Inkwell release running on IIS against SQL Server, with sample content about writing, publishing and running a site with Inkwell. Nothing is mocked: the reader pages, the editorial Desk, the themes and the reports are the product. It resets to its starting content every weekend.
How do I sign in to the Inkwell demo?
Open demo.useinkwell.app/admin and use one of the three shared demo accounts: admin, editor or author at demo.useinkwell.app. The shared password is shown on this page after a press-and-hold, so it is read by people rather than crawlers. The accounts are restored every hour, so a changed password locks others out for an hour at most.
What can I try in the demo?
Write a post in the visual editor or in Markdown, schedule it, add it to a series, fill in the answer blocks, switch the layout and colour preset from Theme, approve a comment, and read the Analytics, AI Crawlers, Security and Audit screens. Sign in as the Author to walk the submit-for-review workflow. Self-hosting on your own server keeps the same features under your control, including GDPR compliance by design.
Can I upload images or import a WordPress export into the demo?
Yes to both. Uploads and imported content are removed at the weekly reset, and the site is public until then, so use copies you do not mind other visitors seeing for a few days. No e-mail is ever sent from the demo.
Where do I get Inkwell?
From GitHub at github.com/marutisoftwaresolutions/inkwell, under the MIT licence. Self-host it with the included Docker Compose file or on IIS; the install guide on this site covers both, and Maruti Software Solutions offers installation and support services if you prefer not to run it yourself.
Ready to run your own?

Deploy Inkwell on your server.

Free, MIT-licensed, self-hosted. Docker Compose or IIS; the install guide covers both.
